4th Ranking Tournament for the 2024 Season to Foster the Growth of Padel

The Saudi Padel Committee has announced the date of the 4th ranking tournament for this season, open to all categories: Men, Women, and Juniors, taking place from August 29 to 31 in Riyadh. This tournament is part of ongoing efforts to develop and empower players not affiliated with clubs to participate in professional competitions, enhancing their competitive skills and promoting padel as a growing sport both locally and internationally.

Ranking tournaments are a fundamental pillar in the development of the sport, as they contribute to fairly ranking players each season, motivating them to compete and improve their performance. These tournaments also help discover promising talents across all age groups who may represent the Kingdom in international arenas in the future. This particular tournament holds special significance due to the rapid growth of padel in the Kingdom and the increasing number of participants from various age groups.

The tournament is expected to witness wide participation from the top padel players in the Kingdom, adding excitement to the competitions and enhancing the quality of the matches. The event is sponsored by the National Agricultural Development Company (Nadec), which will provide healthy products to the participants, raising awareness about the importance of proper nutrition for athletes.

Registration for the tournament will be open from August 11 to 19, with competitions beginning on Thursday, August 29. Matches will be held at Padel It courts in Riyadh.

Summer Mission Completed Successfully

The Saudi Padel national team has returned after successfully completing its training camp in Valencia, Spain. 

The summer mission began with a women’s camp at the start of the season, where the Saudi women’s team benefited from intensive training and friendly matches with top international players, helping to enhance performance and boost confidence.

The summer concluded with a men’s camp, featuring rigorous training sessions and practice matches, which contributed to the players’ skill development, thanks to world-class facilities and experienced coaches. The Saudi men’s team also welcomed junior players, enhancing the team’s diversity and increasing opportunities for gaining new experiences.

The Saudi Padel Committee organized both camps as part of its strategy to develop players and empower them to compete internationally, raising the nation’s profile.

The team hopes that these camps will serve as a launching pad for achieving further international successes and elevating the Kingdom’s flag in global sports arenas.

Saudi Padel Committee Partners with Barns to Sponsor the Saudi Padel League

The Saudi Padel Committee has officially signed a strategic partnership agreement with the renowned Saudi brand “Barns.” This significant collaboration aims to elevate the professional and competitive standards of the Saudi Padel League while enhancing its marketing and commercial appeal through the active involvement of the private sector. Together, they seek to improve the quality of services and advance the development of padel in the Kingdom.

As part of this agreement, the league will be officially named the “Barns Saudi Padel League.”

Mr. Khaled Al-Saad, Chairman of the Saudi Padel Committee, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, emphasizing its importance in ensuring the success of the league in its inaugural season.

Announcement of the Draw for the Inaugural Saudi Padel League

On Wednesday, the draw for the first edition of the Saudi Padel League was successfully conducted, featuring participation from 45 clubs across the Central, Eastern, and Western regions. Each region consists of four groups, with matches scheduled to begin on Thursday, May 16, and the first round of qualifiers concluding on Saturday, May 28.

The draw took place at the headquarters of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee in Riyadh, attended by Mr. Khaled Al-Saad, Chairman of the Saudi Padel Committee, alongside the committee’s team, numerous players, team managers, and members of the media.

The draw was facilitated by Dr. Fawaz Al-Hakami, General Supervisor of Competitions at the Saudi Padel Committee, and international referee Fahd Al-Jamaan.

In addition, the competition times for the women’s league were announced, along with the details of the participating teams in the inaugural women’s league, which will commence later this year with 10 clubs.

Saudi Padel Committee Signs MOU with the Ministry of Education to Launch School League

The Saudi Padel Committee has signed a MOU with the Ministry of Education to enhance collaborative efforts in developing padel within the educational community. Representing the Ministry was Dr. Saad Al-Harbi, Undersecretary for Educational Programs, while Mr. Khaled Al-Saad, Chairman of the Saudi Padel Committee, represented the committee. The signing took place at the Ministry of Education headquarters in Riyadh on Monday, April 1, 2024 (22nd of Ramadan).

The memorandum aims to strengthen the partnership between the two entities and promote positive behavior among students by encouraging them to engage in padel through the school league. Additionally, it seeks to contribute to the development and training of human resources by building skills through workshops and training courses.

In a demonstration of social responsibility, the Saudi Padel Committee has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the “Liajlehum” Association, which is dedicated to serving individuals with disabilities. The agreement aims to enhance community participation in padel among people with disabilities and ensure their sustained involvement in the sport through various activities.

Representing the “Liajlehum” Association at the signing was His Highness Prince Faisal bin Abdulrahman bin Nasser Al Saud, the Executive Director of the association. The Saudi Padel Committee was represented by Ms. Munira Al-Barak, the Executive Director of the committee.
